Medium Koa Hawaiian Island Chain Wall Art

Hawaiian Koa wood is a rare and precious wood endemic to the Hawaiian Islands. Koa, in the Hawaiian language means brave, bold, fearless, or warrior. Koa wood is becoming more and more difficult to get as the trees are endangered and the wood can only be harvested after the tree has fallen naturally. My koa wood comes from the slopes of the Big Island of Hawaii where the trees grow best at higher elevations. After harvest, I allow my wood to cure for a period of at least two years before use.
 
This medium size of my  Koa Hawaiian Islands  fits well on a 3 to 4 foot wall space. The Big Island of Hawaii itself has a maximal dimension of approximately 9 inches and a thickness of 1 inch. Each of the eight (8) islands are  hand carved individually by the artist. The islands are three dimensional with a topographical appearance. Each island comes with a saw tooth hanger on the back to easily hang it on the wall.
 
The artist signs the back of the Big Island along with the company name Kalai Koa Woods and Made in Hawaii.

Hanging the islands is easy. There are just a few steps to follow. First look up the Hawaiian Islands on a map. This will give you an idea of the relative distance between the islands. Next figure out your wall space. Get a small piece of tape, painters blue tape works well, and place it in the center of where the Big Island will hang. This will be on the lower right side of your space. Then do the same for each of the islands working your way down the island chain using the map to maintain the appropriate relative distance between the islands. If you want the island chain to cover a larger area on the wall, just spread the islands out maintaining the appropriate relative distances between them. Once you are satisfied, place a nail or screw into your wall to hang the islands.
